[:pb]FINCAR é o Festival Internacional de Cinema de Realizadoras. O evento tem sua primeira edição em 2016 e acontece no mês de julho na cidade do Recife (PE), Brasil. Com foco de gênero na realização, o festival propõe uma investigação do processo criativo audiovisual feito por mulheres.
No seu primeiro ano, o FINCAR tem por motivação fomentar o debate em torno do cinema e a mulher que observa e é observada. Investigaremos a liberdade de formas e temas em longas, médias e curtas-metragens. Interessa a realização que acontece geograficamente descentralizada. Aqui, a internacionalidade é entendida como uma ponte que respeita as singularidades das obras, das autoras e dos locais de exibição. Um diálogo entre visões atentas aos contextos de realização. Entendemos o festival de cinema como um espaço de trocas entre realizadoras e público. Um momento para pensar sobre arte, autoria, gênero e a teia social em torno dessas questões.
Em parceria com a Federação Pernambucana de Cineclubes, também realizaremos o Circuito Cineclubista FINCAR – FEPEC. Com essa parceria, os filmes poderão ser exibidos também em outras cidades do Estado de Pernambuco.
Direção Artística e Curadoria
Maria Cardozo
Maria Cardozo nasceu em 1989 no Recife, Brasil. Graduada em jornalismo pela Unicap, desde 2011, tem a imagem como objeto de seu interesse, dedicando-se especialmente à imagem em movimento. Maria tem trabalhado como montadora em videoartes e filmes. É responsável pela montagem dos curtas “Loja de Répteis”, “Rodolfo Mesquita e as monstruosas máscaras de alegria e felicidade” e do longa-metragem “Todas as Cores da Noite”, dirigidos por Pedro Severien. Em 2014, realizou junto a artista visual Irma Brown uma das peças do projeto Original Cópia e fotografou a performance PaganguRevolution. Em 2015, integrou a equipe do projeto Escola Engenho e o grupo “Quebrando Vidraças – Desconstruindo o machismo no audiovisual pernambucano”. Seu primeiro curta-metragem como roteirista e diretora, “Cheiro de Melancia”, foi selecionado pelo edital do Audiovisual do Fundo de Incentivo à Cultura de Pernambuco – Funcultura e será lançado em 2016.
Curadoras
Mariana Porto
Realizadora, montadora e educadora ligada ao audiovisual. Realizou três curtas-metragens e está em fase de preparação de seu primeiro longa. Atualmente leciona direção de arte e montagem como professora substituta na UFPE. Pesquisou a alteridade nos documentários construídos a partir da noção de cultura popular no mestrado (UFBA -Universidade federal da Bahia). Possui graduação em psicologia e formação paralela em teatro, performance e cinema. Leciona em cursos superiores e oficinas desde 2007. Criou e coordenou o projeto Escola Engenho – espaço de experimentação audiovisual para crianças – no Recife (2010 – 2014), e foi coordenadora regional do projeto inventar com a diferença (www.inventarcomadiferenca.org – Secretaria de Direitos Humanos/UFF).
Ana Carvalho
Formada em Radialismo pela UFMG e pós-graduada em Narrativas Contemporâneas pela PUCMG. Integra a equipe do Vídeo nas Aldeias, onde atua nas oficinas de formação e produção audiovisual indígena e na pesquisa, redação e edição de livros e publicações. Entre 2001 e 2013, foi uma das organizadoras e curadoras do forumdoc.bh – festival do filme documentário e etnográfico de Belo Horizonte. Desde 2001, desenvolve trabalhos e oficinas em colaboração com comunidades tradicionais, grupos culturais de periferia urbana e outros artistas. Dedica-se à pesquisa e produção em cinema, literatura, fotografia e artes visuais.

Janaína Oliveira
Pesquisadora, e doutora em História pela PUC-Rio e professora no Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro – Campus São Gonçalo, onde coordena o Núcleo de Estudos Afro-brasileiros e Indígena (NEABI). Realiza pesquisas centradas na reflexão sobre Cinema Negro, no Brasil e na diáspora, e também sobre as cinematografias africanas. Desde 2011 participa ativamente do FESPACO, Festival Panafricano de Cinema e Televisão de Ouagadougou e da JCFA, Journée Cinématographique de la Femme Africaine d’Image, ambos em Burkina Faso. Fez curadoria de filmes para o Plateau – Festival Internacional de Praia, Cabo Verde. Atualmente, coordena também o FICINE, Fórum Itinerante de Cinema Negro.

Tatiana Quintero
Formada em Fotografia na Academia de Arte Guerrero (2007) e em Rádio e Televisão pela Unificada Nacional (2011), ambas na Colômbia. É graduanda em Cinema e Audiovisual na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, onde participou da fundação e faz parte da curadoria do cineclube “CineCiclo”. Participou de Juri em festivais como “Festival de Cinema de Belo Jardim – Cine Jardim”. Foi mediadora cultural do projeto CineCabeça e participa de projetos de intervenção social em gênero com ênfase em feminismo, que é sua linha de pesquisa.
Thayná Torella
Estudante de Cinema e Audiovisual na Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA), atualmente em mobilidade acadêmica na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Trabalhou na produção da 1ª e 2ª Edição do Festival Curta Iguassu (PR), dirigiu o programa piloto Fozforo (2014), o documentário Apepu (2014), a animação em rotoscopia Escalpelo (2015) e foi Janela Crítica no VIII Janela Internacional de Cinema.
Ivich Barret
Estudante de Cinema e Audiovisual da Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA), atualmente faz mobilidade acadêmica na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Tem trabalhado sobretudo com montagem, mas também nas áreas de fotografia, atuação e legendagem/tradução. Participou de diversas produções universitárias e independentes, como Taba (2015), Escalpelo (2015), Terracota (2014) e Do amor: pequenas coisas (2013) e legendou as obras exibidas no VI Festival Internacional do Filme Etnográfico do Recife em 2015. Atuou em projetos de formação audiovisual e teatral, e hoje participa do “Fazer o mundo fazendo vídeo”, projeto realizado em parceria com jovens moradores de Gaibu, Cabo de Sto. Agostinho.

Iniciou sua carreira em 2004 como produtora, sendo “Eisenstein” de Leonardo Lacca, Raul Luna e Tião, seu primeiro curta-metragem. Junto com a Trincheira filmes produziu o curta-metragem “Muro”, dirigido por Tião; o documentário “Vigias” de Marcelo Lordello e a animação “Dia Estrelado” de Nara Normande.
Ao longo dos anos, participou dos longas-metragens produzidos pela REC Produtores “KFZ-1348” de Gabriel Mascaro e Marcelo Pedroso, “Viajo porque preciso, Volto porque te amo” Karim Anouïz e Marcelo Gomes, “Era Uma Vez, eu, Verônica” de Marcelo Gomes, “Tatuagem” de Hilton Lacerda e “O Homem das Multidões” de Marcelo Gomes e Cao Guimarães. Com Gabriel Mascaro realizou a direção de produção “Um Lugar ao Sol”, “Ventos de Agosto” e “Boi Neon”, além da pesquisa de “Doméstica”. Em 2013, fundou juntamente com a produtora Kika Latache a Vilarejo Filmes. “Brasil S/A” de Marcelo Pedroso é o primeiro longa-metragem que a empresa coproduz em parceria com Símio Filmes. Atualmente, a Vilarejo Filmes desenvolve projetos autorais e independentes para cinema e TV.
Sabrina Luna
Produtora, professora universitária e pesquisadora. Organiza mostras desde 2006 e começou a trabalhar em festivais de cinema em 2009, quando foi voluntária do Festival Derhumalc – Festival Internacional de Direitos Humanos, em Buenos Aires, trabalhando também na Mostra de São Paulo no mesmo ano. Nos anos de 2011, 2012 e 2015 foi produtora do Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife. Em 2011 foi produtora de distribuição do filme Pacific, de Marcelo Pedroso. No ano de 2014 foi produtora do III Curta Brasília e em 2015 jurada do II MOV – Festival Internacional de Cinema Universitário, em Recife.
Thais Vidal
Produtora desde 2010, trabalhando em curtas independentes como produtora e em longas como “Brasil S/A” de Marcelo Pedroso como assistente de produção. Atualmente, sócia da Ponte Produções, ela vem atuando na produção de filmes como o longa-metragem “A Seita”, de André Antônio (2015) e os curtas-metragens “O delírio é a redenção dos aflitos”, de Fellipe Fernandes, que estreou na Semana da Crítica, no Festival de Cannes em 2016, “Catimbau” de Lucas Caminha (2015), “Elogio do Tremor”, de André Valença e “O Porteiro do dia” de Fábio Leal, ainda a serem lançados, além de projetos em andamento de jovens realizadores do Recife. Ela é produtora executiva e diretora artística do MOV Festival Internacional de Cinema Universitário de Pernambucodesde 2014 e faz parte da equipe de produção do Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife desde 2011. Em 2013, dirigiu o documentário “Fora da Ordem” exibido dentro do programa Recife: The Playable City organizado pelo Consulado Britânico em Bristol, Inglaterra, a partir de quando começou a investigar as relações da produção cultural com a cidade. Na vida acadêmica, vêm pesquisando as relações entre cinema, mercado e cidade dentro do Mestrado em Desenvolvimento Urbano, MDU – UFPE. [:en]FINCAR is the International Women Filmmakers Festival. The event has its first edition in 2016 and takes place in the month of July in the city of Recife (PE), Brazil. With a gender focus on realization, the festival proposes an investigation of audiovisual creative process done by women.
In its first year, FINCAR is motivated by stimulating debate around the film and the woman who observes and is observed. We investigate the freedom of forms and themes in feature length, medium and short films. Interests us the realization that happens geographically decentralized. Here, internationality is seen as a bridge that respects the uniqueness of the works, the authors and the exhibition venues. A dialogue between visions attentive to the contexts. We understand the film festival as an exchange space between filmmakers and audience. A moment to think about art, authorship, gender and the social web around those issues.
In partnership with the Federation of Film Clubs in Pernambuco, we´ll also hold the film club circuit FINCAR – FEPEC. With this partnership, the films will also be shown in other cities of the State of Pernambuco.
Artistic Director and Curator
Maria Cardozo
Maria Cardozo was born in 1989 in Recife, Brazil. She graduated in Journalism from Unicap and, since 2011, has the image as the object of her interest, devoting herself especially to the moving image. Maria has worked as editor in videoarts and movies. She´s responsible for the editing of the shorts “Reptile Shop”, “Rodolfo Mesquita and monstrous masks of joy” and the feature film “All the Colors of the Night,” directed by Pedro Severien. In 2014, she worked together with visual artist Irma Brown on the project Original Copy and photographed the performance PaganguRevolution. In 2015, she joined the School Engenho team and the group “Breaking the Windows – Deconstructing machismo in Pernambuco audiovisual”. Her first short film as writer and director, “Watermelon Smell”, was financed by Funcultura – Pernambuco’s Art Fund and will be released in 2016.

Mariana Porto
Director, editor and educator linked to audiovisual and movies. She directed three short films and is in preparation for her first feature film. Currently teaches art direction and video edition as a substitute teacher at the federal university of Pernambuco (UFPE) . Researched otherness in documentaries constructed from the
notion of popular culture in her master (UFBA Federal University of Bahia). She graduated in psychology and had parallel studies in theater, performance and film. Teaches in university courses and workshops since 2007. She created and coordinated the “EscolaEngenho” project – audiovisual experimentation for children – in Recife ( 2010-2014 ), and was the regional coordinator of the project “Inventar com a diferença” ( www.inventarcomadiferenca.org – Human Rights Secretary/ UFF).
Ana Carvalho
Ana Carvalho has a degree in Social Communication (UFMG) and a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Narratives (PUCMG). She is part of Video nas Aldeias team, collaborating on video production workshops with native people and writing books and other publications. Between 2001 and 2013, she co-organized and integrated de curator team of forumdoc.bh – Belo Horizonte ethnographic and documentary film festival. Since 2001, she develops art and video works in collaboration with traditional communities, cultural groups from the urban suburbs, and other artists. She dedicated herself to the research and production on literature, still photography, visual arts and filmmaking.

Lívia de Melo began her career in 2004 as a producer, and “Eisenstein” by Leonardo Lacca, Raul Luna and Tiao, was her first short film. Along with Trincheira Films, she produced “Muro” directed by Tião; the documentary “Watchmen” by Marcelo Lordello; and the animated film “Starry Day” by Nara Normande.
Over the years, she participated in feature films produced by REC Producers: “KFZ-1348” by Gabriel Mascaro and Marcelo Pedroso; “I Travel Because I Have to, I Come Back Because I Love You” by Karim Anouïz and Marcelo Gomes; “Once Upon a Time, I, Veronica” by Marcelo Gomes; “Tattoo” by Hilton Lacerda; and “Man of the Crowds” by Marcelo Gomes and Cao Guimarães. With Gabriel Mascaro, she held the direction of production of “A Place in the Sun”, “August Winds” and “Neon Bull”, beyond the research for “Domestic”. In 2013, she founded together with producer Kika Latache Vilarejo Films. “Brazilian Dream” by Marcelo Pedroso is the first feature that the company coproduced in partnership with Símio Films. Currently, Vilarejo Films develops independent projects for film and TV.
Sabrina Luna
Producer, university teacher and researcher. Organize screenings since 2006 and started the work in film festivals in 2009, when was volunteer at the Festival Derhumalc – International Festival of Human Rights, in Buenos Aires, working also at the Mostra de São Paulo the same year. In 2011, 2012 and 2015 was producer of the Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife. In 2011 was distribution producer of the movie Pacific, by Marcelo Pedroso. In 2014 was producer of the III Curta Brasília and in 2015 jury of the II MOV – Festival Internacional de Cinema Universitário, in Recife.
Thais Vidal
Producer since 2010, worked in independent short films as producer and in feature films as “Brasil S/A” by Marcelo Pedroso, as producer assistant. Nowadays, as partner in Ponte Produções, in addition to ongoing projects of young directors from Recife, is executive producer of the feature film “The Cult” by André Antônio (2015), and the short films “Delusion is redemption to those in distress” by Fellipe Fernandes, premiered at Semaine de la Critique from the Cannes Festival (2016), “Catimbau” by Lucas Caminha (2015), “Praise the Tremor” by André Valença and “The day doorman” by Fábio Leal, yet to be premiered. She is the executive producer and artistic director of MOV – Festival Internacional de Cinema Universitário de Pernambuco, since 2014, and is also a member of the production of the festival Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife. In 2013, she directed the documentary “Out of Order”, exhibited within The Playable City Program organized by the British Council, in Bristol (UK), when she started to investigate the relationship between cities and the cultural production.
